ROOIBOSBULT SAFARI LODGE

On the grassy plains of Limpopo’s Bushveld region in South Africa lies Rooibosbult Safaris, an untamed piece of the motherland and a hunter’s haven. Nestled between Lephalale and Thabazimbi, the family owned property boasts 10 000 acres of pristine wilderness with a magnificent view of the majestic Waterberg Mountain range. Rooibosbult Safari Lodge provides a sought after bow and rifle hunting experience in an environment that offers deluxe accommodation and amenities. The facilities were built and designed to cater for both the hunter and their family.

The Burgers have been into agriculture since 1983. Machiel and Almarie took over the family farming business in 1995 and made it their own. Today they are the proud owners of a successful business in the fresh produce industry, supplying locally and exporting to international markets. They have been married for 23 years and have three (3) children.

In August 2018 they bought the Rooibosbult ranch and started the construction of the lodge in 2019. Family time and their love for the great outdoors is very important to them and their family. They wanted to create an establishment that reflects these values. The layout of the lodge is to accommodate hunters and their families.

Andre is the outfitter and Professional hunter, Andre’s grandfather, Ben Fourie , together with Phillip Percyville, took Ernest Hemmingway on Safari in east Africa. Andre is a fifth-generation professional hunter who has been in the safari business for 27 years now. He frequented not only Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Namibia and South Africa, but the true jungle of Congo Brazzaville where gorillas still roam free.

Hunting, fishing or just roaming the African outdoors with a camera, is not only in his blood- it is his very being!

Sonia, has been working for the same law firm for 33 years. The opportunity to come and run Rooibosbult safari lodge together with her husband, Andre, just was so promising that she could not resist the offer.
